Lingua Medica
counts texts for translation in lines of source
text, a line being conventionally defined as 55 characters + spaces,
based on the German Institute for Standardization’s DIN 2345 standard
published in 1998. In Word 1997-2003,
the line count is given by dividing the figure displayed under
File→Properties→Statistics→Characters
(with spaces) by 55. In Word 2007, it
is given by dividing the characters + spaces displayed under
Office Button→Prepare→Properties→Document
Properties→Advanced
properties→Statistics
by 55. We charge fields not included in the character + space count,
such as graphics, on a time basis.
Our estimates are binding if we receive the complete electronic text, and
approximate if we receive a sample extract. Jobs needed more or less
immediately may incur a rush charge, depending on their size. Any such
charge will always be agreed with the client in advance. |
